Media Bias May Have Backfired – La Prensa quedo metida

McCain-Palin Futuros Lideres de los EEUU

McCain-Palin Futuros Lideres de los EEUU

The media frenzy surrounding Gov. Palin’s selection last Friday as the Republican Party’s Vice Presidential candidate may have set up the stage for her own deliverance. Over 37 million viewers tuned in to watch her and listen to watch she had to say. More media outlets were present than during Senator Obama’s acceptance speech. It was interesting as I had expected less coverage and simply a dismissal from this media. However it is not about pro-Obama bias as much as it is to draw blood and seek a story. They were expecting a bad speech, shakiness and in general they wanted the Governor to flop under the inhumane pressure she and her family have been forced to bear owing to the scrutiny of her daughter. It would have provided more circus material for their vampiric desires…

A normal parent would have caved and told everyone to “screw”. Ms. Palin rose to the occasion and was able to show the world that she is a leader now – she has the mettle to be a Vice President. Welcome Sarah.

Bienvenida Sarah!

NECN Coverage of Republican Convention: Sad

New England Cable Network’s coverage of the convention has been very slanted. The Leaning Tower of Pisa would have been proud at the accomplishment as the female reporter questioned President Bush’s absence from the Convention with suspicion, while both he and Republican Governor Bobby Jindal were addressing the emergency situation spawned by Hurricane Gustav. She spoke of the video link yet failed to mention WHY the President was not there. How convenient.

They spoke of the lack of star power… they ignore the new generation of Republicans (or dismiss them) and feel that implicitly the Dems have better pols at their service. My taxes subsidize this drivel. Sad.

Keira Knightly with a Queenly Gesture

Gorgeous in Her Own Right
Gorgeous in Her Own Right

Keira Knightly is without a doubt a wonderful actress, beautiful woman and has shown a great deal of maturity in disallowing her bodily image to be disfigured by idiotic graphic artists on movie advertisments. It is people like her we should be talking about and not the immature mental wrecks like Brittany Spears and company. Women’s self image is manipulated by TV and the world of modelling. In Venezuela, for example, young 15 year old girls request breast augmentation as a rite of passage and irresponsable depraved plastic surgeons are only happy to oblige. Why pass up on an easy buck – never mind these fragile minds cannot judge for themselves and their even more pathetic parents can’t raise caring confident children that would not need to view their physique as their most important attribute. The other issue being that most of these parents cannot pay for the procedure, rather finance it. The other alternative is a form of prostitution that is not only practiced in South America, where a girls trade into shallow relationships and prolonged sexual slavery in exchange for new double Cs or Ds. Sad but true.  Get a grip on your daughters and educate them!

Thanks Keira – thanks for standing up for yourself. I hope older actresses follow suit soon!

Ecuador: Troubling Times in South America

Ecuadoran government seized a TV Channel a la Chavez last week. While some howls of worry were heard, not much from the ideological left here in the US. Anything these clowns do (Clowns being Chavez and the Ecuadoran clown who supports terrorism in Colombia) is adorable. Just another asset seizure assuming a person is guilty without trial. We must understand that Latin America follow the Roman Canon, which is basically “You are Guilty until you can prove you are innocent“, this places a great deal of power in the government’s hands, especially the current government in Ecuador that has been unable to respond allegations of supporting and harboring guerillas as they launched attacks on to Colombian soil.

BBC VIDEO

Just a reminder that Chavez seized a station (RCTV) on vague pretexts and overnight set up a government run TV Channel. Chavez apologists overlooked this trangression as its “okay” according to them…

Bravo Jim Abbiso! (Screw You Mel)

Only one person in Roslindale Massachusetts had the balls to not be star struck by fallen star Mel Gibson. He does not buy into Gibson’s apologies for his profuse hatred of Jews. Gibson wants to film in Rozzie…

Unfortunately, his neighbors waxed enthusiastic on the newscast as they stated willingness to pardon him for his transgressions because “he was a star”. So I guess you and me can call the dumbass blond on the newscast a dumbass and she won’t forgive me because we are not stars… I am hurt. What people do for money… as they say in Spanish “Por la plata baila el perro” (The dog dances for coins)

Jim – you are a truly a class act – Would love to buy you a beer!

Is Cheburashka a Kosher toy or not?

Created in the Soviet era as a TV Character – this strange animal with the squeaky voice is in my theory a reaction to the Capitalist Mickey Mouse and lesser known (in the USA) Topo Gigio

Cheburashka Cartoon

I understand that kids need to play with kosher toys in terms of not having toy pigs or sharks etc – Predator animals are considered violent too – yet why do we take on names like Leib (Lion) or Ari en Hebrew? The explanation is that we seek to have the POSITIVE traits of those animals… In any case, Cheburashka seems like a fun fellow, especially when people playfully alter his original image…

Overall some fairy tales – like those written by Grimm are not that kosher either – they teach kids to steal (Jack and the Beanstalk), Falsely accuse – Hansel and Gretel: I was reading my infant son this story, perhaps it was edited, but the kid deducts that they are the meal, but she really never stated this as her intent. So the lady gets pushed in the oven without defending herself. Yeah, she was a weird lady, but she had a house made out of candy – so these kids that were trespassing actually killed her. Something like killing the landowners and owners of wealth (candies?)…. I dunno, perhaps a stretch, but in between Disney and some other stuff – localized cartoons and fairy tales for your children are the better choice. I have had a chance to read some stories designed for children from Venezuela and they seemed quite innocent enough.

Take time to listen to nursery rhymes too – lots of mishugass there!!!! Rocking My Baby – that is sweet how???? London Bridge/Pocket Full of Posies is just morbid!

Why do we cling on to this stuff? Are we deluding ourselves that our children’s psyche is far too young to be influenced by this crap? Think again.
